Ways to Pay for Care

There are several ways care at home can be funded. Some people use more than one. The right route depends on your circumstances, so the information below is a general guide only.

Paying for your own care (self-funding)

Many people arrange and pay for care directly with us. You choose the support, the times and the carers, and you can change your package as your needs change.

Other Financial Help You May Be Able to Claim

Attendance Allowance is a benefit from the government for people over State Pension age who need help with personal care or supervision because of an illness or disability. It is not means tested and can be spent in the way that suits you best, including on care. Check the official GOV.UK guidance to see whether it applies to you.

Independent organisations such as Age UK and Citizens Advice can also give free advice about benefits and paying for care.
